Intel launches mobile, desktop and edge processors


Declaring the age of the AI PC, Intel has unveiled its range of processors for mobile, desktop, and edge devices, at CES 2024.

Intel said the flagship is the Intel Core 14th Gen processor family, coupled with the Intel Core Ultra-powered systems, showcasing Intel’s commitment to catering to diverse user needs and advancing computing standards. At CES, Intel said more than 60 partners would launch with the chip family.

Roger Chandler, Intel’s vice president of enthusiast PC and workstations in the Client Computing Group, said in a statement, “Our Intel Core 14th Gen processor family is designed to provide top-notch performance and platform features to both enthusiast and mainstream PC users. Whether it’s on-the-go mobility or powerful desktop computing, Intel is revolutionizing the computing experience.”

The Intel Core i9-14900HX leads this lineup, boasting eight Performance-cores (P-cores) and 16 Efficient-cores (E-cores) for connectivity and exceptional single and multi-thread performance. Additionally, the i7-14700HX processors offer a 50% increase in E-cores, enhancing creator capabilities.

Key features of the HX-series processors include up to 5.8 GHz turbo frequency, supporting 192GB of DDR5-5600 MT/S memory, overclocking capabilities, Thunderbolt 5, integrated Intel Wi-Fi 6E, and Bluetooth 5.4 and 5.3 connectivity.

Intel said the Intel Core 14th Gen desktop processors operate at the 65-watt and 35-watt levels for mainstream desktop, all-in-one and edge device.

These processors facilitate various applications, from gaming to productivity, and support connectivity with USB 3.2, Thunderbolt 4, and Wi-Fi 6E (Gig+), ensuring a seamless computing experience for users.
