10 Chambers unveils corporate espionage shooter Den of Wolves

Swedish developer 10 Chambers revealed its brand new franchise, Den of Wolves, at The Game Awards. The techno-thriller cooperative heist game lets players rise through the ranks of Midway City’s professional criminal underground.

You and your crew will design a plan, gather the intel and get the industrial espionage, sabotage and assassinations done by any means necessary. Of course, anything can happen and it’ll be up to your crew to adapt.

Den of Wolves comes from industry veterans known for Payday The Heist, Payday 2, and GTFO. 10 Chambers co-founder and the original designer of Payday: The Heist and Payday 2, Ulf Andersson is at the helm of Den of Wolves, serving as the game’s creative director.

“Having worked on heist games in the past which channeled classic bank robbery themes, we wanted to take Den of Wolves in an exciting new direction that allows us to elevate what a heist can be,” said Ulf Andersson. “You can only rob so many banks. Den of Wolves’ sci-fi themes and gameplay elements gave us the freedom to offer more variety in heists — incorporating corporate espionage, sabotage, and assassinations.”

Den of Wolves is true to its sci-fi roots in its story. Players will navigate a world where deep learning AI caused economies to collapse. Corporations have invested in highly unregulated neurological data security thats impervious to AI.

“We value the art of worldbuilding enormously, so even though Den of Wolves isn’t an open-world game, the history and narrative we’ve built around Midway City is considerable. We want Midway to feel like a believable city of the near future where late-stage capitalism has gone rampant, and corporations set the rules,” said Simon Viklund, 10 Chambers cofounder and narrative and audio director. “As a player, you reside in Midway City’s underground domains without any real identity or documentation, building your allegiances to become a criminal entrepreneur through its black market of gig jobs.”

10 Chambers also released the final chapter of its hardcore tactical multiplayer horror game GTFO. The “Rundown 8.0: Duality” expansion is the twelfth and final free major content update since its 2019 launch. The expansion will conclude GTFO’s story arc.
